Welcome back from Spring Break!

This week, we are beginning a quick new novel unit over The Encouragement Letters by local author Shanna Spence! Mrs. Spence lives here in Longview and this is her first publication in her writing career. If we can work out the details, Mrs. Spence will be coming to meet with students to speak and answer questions about her writing experience.

The Encouragement Letters is set in Manchester, England in 1865 during the Industrial Revolution. We will read about Will, his mum, and the other characters who help Will during the hard times that follow the death of his father, Calvert.
